About SanctionListCheck
SanctionListCheck compares the names of your customers, suppliers and other business partners with 10 official sanctions lists, and gives you a report to review.
What the service does
You can check up to 10 names in any 24 hours for free, typed or from a CSV or Excel file. For a larger list, you upload a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file with up to 2,000 rows and pay once for that file. There is no subscription.
Developers can use the REST API and the MCP server with an API key and prepaid credits. The Developers page shows how.
Who it is for
The service is for businesses and professionals, for example exporters, trade and payment teams, and the compliance staff of small companies. It is not offered to consumers.
It is a screening aid. It shows possible matches for a person to review. It is not legal advice, and it does not decide for you.
The 10 lists and their dates
We check OFAC SDN, the US Consolidated Screening List, the EU consolidated financial sanctions list, the UK Sanctions List, the UN Security Council Consolidated List, France's registre national des gels, Poland's MSWiA list, the Swiss SECO list, and Canada's and Australia's consolidated lists.
We fetch each list from its official publisher every day. If a download fails, we keep the last good copy of that list, and its data date stays the same. Your report shows the data date of every list. The report marks a list as out of date when its data is more than 48 hours old.
How the matching and the report work
The matching is deterministic: the same names and the same list data give the same result. It finds similar spellings, transliterations and aliases with SoftTFIDF word alignment and Jaro-Winkler word similarity, and it uses the country and the date of birth when your file has them. No AI or language model takes part in the matching. The How we screen page explains the lists, the name score and its limits.
The report comes as PDF, CSV and JSON. It shows each possible match with its list and the data date of that list. The known limits of the matching are in section 4 of the Terms of Service.
How we handle your data
Your uploaded file and your report are deleted 24 hours after the upload, so download the report to keep it. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Where your data is processed is in the Privacy Policy. For the names you screen, the Data Processing Agreement applies.
