Sanctions Screening
If you are searching for a sanctions screening API, you are likely looking for a programmatic way to integrate sanctions checks into your existing systems. While sanctionlistcheck.com currently focuses on a different solution, we offer a robust alternative for screening lists of names against official sanctions lists without any integration effort.
Our initial focus for sanctionlistcheck.com is to provide an accessible, self-serve web application designed for one-time batch screening of supplier, customer, or counterparty lists. This approach prioritizes ease of use and immediate access for businesses needing to screen multiple names quickly, without requiring developer resources or complex integration work. Consequently, a public sanctions screening API is not part of our current v1 offering.
Instead of an API, sanctionlistcheck.com provides a secure, web-based tool for screening your lists. You can upload a CSV or XLSX file containing names, and our system will automatically detect the name column, presenting a confirmation screen before processing begins. Every uploaded list is screened against all five official sanctions lists: the OFAC SDN List, the US Consolidated Screening List (US CSL), the EU Consolidated Sanctions List, the UK Sanctions List, and the UN Security Council Consolidated List. Our fully deterministic matching engine, which employs Jaro-Winkler and token-set fuzzy matching, identifies potential matches without relying on AI judgment. Upon completion, you receive comprehensive PDF and CSV reports. Each report line details the input name, match result, matched list (if any), a match score for detailed review, and a timestamp/version for each list. Reports explicitly include 'no match found on [list] as of [timestamp]' for all lists, even if no matches are identified. All data processing occurs exclusively within the EU, and uploaded files and generated reports are deleted no later than 24 hours after upload. Customer data is never used to train any AI model.
Our batch screening tool is ideal for compliance, export, trade, and finance professionals at SMBs who need to screen lists of names now, either occasionally or in bulk, without the overhead of building an API integration. It provides a fast, one-time solution for due diligence against major sanctions lists. If your requirement is for real-time, automated, per-transaction API calls, our current v1 product is not the right fit. However, if you are interested in a future API, please get in touch to share your needs, as feedback helps inform our roadmap.
